Day 1. Road to Griz Village.
Griz, Galakhudat & Khinalig Hiking Tour usually starts at 07:30 AM with picking guests up from their location within Baku.
Griz is one of the most hard to reach villages in Shahdag region. Locals usually earn living by carpet making, keeping animals and grazing them. In the past, Griz was a fortress, but now only the ruins remain from the original fortress.

Lunch Break
After such a long journey local family will host you, and you will have lunch prepared with traditional Caucasian mountain recipe. All products used in preparation of the food is locally and organically grown.

Hike to Galakhudat Village
After the lunch we start our 10 km long hike to Galakhudat village. You will see beautiful views of the mountains all along this way. There are many places where you would like to stop and take some pictures. Moreover, on the way you will see fascinating Griz waterfall.

Dinner.
In the evening, we have dinner with a local family, after which we stay for the night in one of the village houses. Eating with a local family is also an interesting experience.
To this day, in many homes in these villages, people follow the tradition of floor dining with the whole family.

Day 2. Road to Khinalig Village.
Morning after breakfast we start our 8 km long hike to Khinalig village.
Khinalig village is one of the oldest and highest settlements in whole Azerbaijan and Caucasus dated by some around 5000 years old. It is located high up in the mountains of Quba rayon at the height of 2287 meters above sea level. In Khinalig you will have some time to walk and get familiarized with the village. Its residents, numbering about 2,000, still retain unique cultural traditions and speak their own language.

Local family of Khinalig village will host you, and you will have lunch prepared with traditional Caucasian mountain recipe. All products used in preparation of the food is locally and organically grown.

The End of the Tour
At the end of the tour (approximately at 20:00) the driver will drop you off to your location in the city center of Baku.
